Time-Tracking

Time

60–120 minutes

What you need

Spreadsheet, paper and pen

Steps

  1. Document all the activities you do in the course of your work.
  2. Note the time spent on different types of activity. For example, to discover the balance of interactions with clients vs. the recording that then follows it.
☝
The information can be used as a response to management who may have their own ‘workload allocation’ or ‘staff utilisation’ models (increasingly being implemented using surveillance of online environments), with time assigned for tasks which may bear little relationship to reality.
