Overview
Interviews generate rich, qualitative data about a workplace or working conditions through open-ended questions.
Purpose
Interviews help to understand workers' conditions, allowing participants to share their opinions, experiences or behaviour.
Advantages
- Builds up a rich picture of a the interviewee's experience.
- Allows for follow-up questioning.
In Practice
Interviews can take different forms, either with an individual or focus groups. Many of these methods are also useful in combination with other approaches such as Diary Keeping or Visual Research
